History:

Ginger Hale was born and raised in a fictional farming town in California not unlike those you'd find in the Harvest Moon games. Generally speaking, she's lived a relatively peaceful and unremarkable life. The youngest of three siblings (an older sister with older half-brother from an affair sandwiched between them), Ginger was generally raised by her older sister, Emma, after their parents divorced. When she struggled with her grades consistently, she dropped out of high school and entered the work force, but was unable to hold down a job until she found her passion working as an apprentice to the elderly tailor in town.

When the woman passed away, Ginger inherited the shop in her early twenties, and has been a dedicated worker of her craft ever since--arguably a workaholic, leaving very little room for anything else in her life outside of her profession. Finally, however, she was encouraged to follow her dream of becoming a fashion designer, instead of just a simple tailor. She filled a portfolio with her work and did what she needed to be accepted to a college for fashion and design based in Los Angeles in her late twenties.

Packing up her things and moving to the big city, Ginger found a listing for a (fictional) historic estate that laid tucked away and all but abandoned by its owner. The man in question was offering the place for rent at a remarkably low price, but a long string of disappearances and bloody discoveries kept it vacant. Due to its status as a historic landmark, the place has been kept clean and in good repair...and Ginger, not knowing the history, herself, and not feeling or noticing any spooky vibes herself, moved in.

She's since spent the last few years of her life going to school and selling her work by commission. She's begun working on a plan to transfer to a well known university of fashion in London...but, of course, that all depends on if the ghosts she hasn't noticed will let her leave.

This is when she finds herself suddenly in Duplicity as a dominant. The sort of person to go with the flow of things, Ginger pushes aside her troubles and dives into establishing herself within the city. She gets to work raising enough money to open a small boutique for herself, which toils long hours at, her prime focus on providing custom made commissioned pieces for her customers in whichever style they find most comfortable. In her downtime, she works on building her own fashion line, which she displays in her store.

Before long, she agrees to take on Edward Nygma and Victor Zsasz of Gotham fame as her submissives, doting on them as if they're simply harmless men that live with her in a little pink house. Meanwhile, she begins a romantic (and deeply one-sided) relationship with Elias Bouchard, who manipulates her easily with his charisma. This remained her daily life for nearly all of her stay in the city, and Ginger was able to exist in her happy, unknowing bubble as the relationships of those around her began to chip and crumble. Once she returns, with most of her previous CR gone, she'll treat it as a fresh start! Not much can keep this lady down!

Personality:

( - ) oblivious

Unfortunately, the trait that most often comes to mind when talking about Ginger is the obliviousness in which she seems to saunter through life with. And she holds that general ignorance with confidence, boldly misinterpreting signs and ignoring danger as if out of sheer willpower. It's remarkable sometimes, honestly, to know how successful she's generally been in her adult years when considering her blatant senselessness. Maybe she has a lot of good karma, maybe some unseen higher power has taken a fancy to her, or maybe, and most likely: she's just plain lucky. That luck will definitely run out on her, and when it does...she won't see it coming. In Duplicity, there were signs of trouble all around her that she simply didn't notice. Her submissives dealing with emotional trauma and paranoia, and the character of her closest connections dubious at best. As she unwittingly surrounded herself with seedy individuals, Ginger remained blissfully unaware of these dealings, content in her colors and notions of goodness.

( + ) kind

Although her silliness can be draining or annoying in some circles, Ginger tends to make up for it with the clear caring and compassion she caries on her sleeve. She's a firm believer in making the best of any situation, and in that regard she does everything that she can to share her zest and enthusiasm for life with everyone who crosses her path. Having a rough day? She'll give you a listening ear. Need a helping hand? Great, because she's got two! And she's never too busy to stop and help. No plans are so important they can't be put off for a person in need. Ginger's never been in a situation where she's had the power or resources to properly give back to the community, but it's always been in her heart to do as much as she can, whenever she can. That's exactly how she met who would be her first contracted submissives in Duplicity. Seeing Edward Nygma sitting alone, she immediately had the thought to stop and talk, seeing if he needed the company.

( - ) gullible

While all that's well and good, a good heart combined with a head in the clouds? Well, she's painfully easy to take advantage of, and unheard of to have her catch anyone in a lie. Ginger's always striven to see the best in others, no matter how caustic or cynical or even downright rude they might appear. That sense that some people tend to have when they come across a person that tells them to run? Bad vibes? She's apparently been born completely devoid of it. In her romantic career, it's always gotten her into trouble, and if it weren't for having savvier older siblings, it would have likely gotten her into deeper financial trouble, as well. Without someone well-meaning to guide her, she almost stubbornly insists on believing in those that may not deserve it. Ginger just can't help thinking that everyone deserves a friend, after all, and when she's being so nice, how could anyone willingly throw her to the lions? This darling girl's in deep out in the real world. This is why, when given the position of dominant, she set out with the intention of letting any submissive she takes under her wing set their own terms for contract. And Ginger certainly isn't one to read the fine print. She was easy to trick and charm when faced with men who came with rotten reputations, even when others tried to warn her of their character.

( - ) clumsy

There's a reason that Ginger's only ever been able to hold down one job. Why she dropped out of school, why she's had messy relationships, and why it's been so hard for her to make decent progress on her future. It's not just that she's so flighty. If it was just that, she could buckle down and set things straight for herself. Really, she's just a mess. She breaks dishware, she's a terrible cook, she's forgetful and unorganized, and certainly she's never been able to keep any of her houseplants alive on her own. Ginger makes mistakes in almost every aspect of her life. It's not intentional, and sometimes she doesn't even notice what she's done wrong, but it's consistent, constant, like a curse that plagues her. Her clumsiness has nothing to do with the ease in which she walks in platforms or the steadiness of her hands, and everything to do with a tendency to lose herself and her thoughts in the moment. She'd honestly lose her own head if it wasn't attached to her. The reason she was ever able to keep her shop in Duplicity running was largely in part due to the help of those around her to support the aspects of business keeping that she's less inclined to.
